The beauty of tulips has enchanted mankind for centuries. The striped variety has attracted particular attention for its intricate and unpredictable patterns. A good understanding of the mechanism driving the striped pattern formation of broken tulips has been missing since the 17th century.

Mathematical models of oncolytic viruses have shown predator-prey like oscillatory patterns as result of an underlying Hopf bifurcation. In a spatial context, these oscillations can lead to different spatio-temporal phenomena such as hollow-ring patterns, target patterns, and dispersed patterns.

Studies have demonstrated acceptable outcomes with structural autograft or allograft. However, most of these studies are relatively small and rarely evaluate bone graft incorporation with CT scan.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of ICNBs was performed from 2010 to 2021 for patients with imaging findings consistent with vertebral osteomyelitis. For each biopsy, a series of factors were analyzed, as well as if histopathology was diagnostic of osteomyelitis and if microbiological cultures were positive.
Objectives: To evaluate diagnostic yield and accuracy of image-guided core needle biopsy (ICNB) of suspected malignant osseous lesions in a large cohort of adults, evaluate what factors influence these measures, and offer technical recommendations to optimize yield.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 2321 ICNBs performed from 2010 to 2021 was completed. The diagnostic yield and accuracy of the biopsies as well as a series of patient, lesion-related, and technical factors were retrospectively analyzed.
