Prediction of Clinically Significant Prostate Cancer Using Multiparametric MRI, Biparametric MRI, and Clinical Parameters.

Introduction: Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) is gold standard for the primary diagnostic work-up of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). The aim of this study was to assess the benefit of the perfusion sequence and the non-inferiority of an MRI without contrast administration (bpMRI) compared to mpMRI while taking clinical parameters into account.

Methods: In this retrospective, non-interventional study we examined MRI data from 355 biopsy-naïve patients, performed on a 3T MRI system, evaluated by a board-certified radiologist with over 10 years of experience with subsequent mpMRI-TRUS fusion biopsy.

The purpose of this study was to determine if dual-energy CT (DECT) vital iodine tumor burden (ViTB), a direct assessment of tumor vascularity, allows reliable response assessment in patients with GIST compared to established CT criteria such as RECIST1.1 and modified Choi (mChoi). Medical care centers (MCCs) are an important part of the German health care system and offer a wide range of outpatient medical services. In recent years, the discussion about medical care centers has increased significantly and is largely emotional and interest-driven. The aim of this article is to provide a factual analysis of the current situation of MCCs in Germany and the role of private equity practice groups.

Functional imaging with dual-energy computed tomography for supplementary non-invasive assessment of mast cell burden in systemic mastocytosis.

Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is characterized by multifocal accumulation of neoplastic mast cells (MCs), predominately affecting the bone marrow (BM). Imaging with computed tomography (CT) is used for assessment of bone mineral density and structure. However, the value of functional imaging with dual-energy CT (DECT) and the assessment of virtual-non-calcium attenuation values (VNCa-AV) for visualization of BM disease burden in SM has not yet been assessed.

Incidence of pulmonary embolism and impact on mortality in patients with malignant melanoma.

Purpose: Pulmonary embolism (PE) occurs frequently in patients with malignant melanoma (MM). The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of PE in patients with MM and to assess the clinical characteristics and mortality of MM patients with PE.
