Background: The two-drug regimen of dolutegravir/lamivudine (DTG/3TC) is currently an optional antiretroviral therapy (ART). Despite its reported advantages on body weight and lipid profile, the same effects have not yet been reported for Asian population.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reportedly affects male reproductive function by causing spermatogenesis dysfunction and suppressing testosterone secretion. However, the relationship between COVID-19 and impaired reproductive function, such as whether these effects on reproductive function are a direct effect of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in male reproductive organs or an indirect effect of high fever, is not known. Here, we examined whether the cell entry molecules of SARS-CoV-2, namely, ACE2, NRP1, TMPRSS2, and FURIN, are expressed in the male reproductive organs using the testes and accessory gonads of macaques during the breeding season.

Evolutionary ecology of masting: mechanisms, models, and climate change.

Many perennial plants show mast seeding, characterized by synchronous and highly variable reproduction across years. We propose a general model of masting, integrating proximate factors (environmental variation, weather cues, and resource budgets) with ultimate drivers (predator satiation and pollination efficiency). This general model shows how the relationships between masting and weather shape the diverse responses of species to climate warming, ranging from no change to lower interannual variation or reproductive failure.

Skeletal muscle's regenerative ability is vital for maintaining muscle function, but chronic diseases like Duchenne muscular dystrophy can deplete this capacity. Muscle satellite cells, quiescent in normal situations, are activated during muscle injury, expressing myogenic regulatory factors, and producing myogenic progenitor cells. It was reported that muscle stem cells in primary culture and reserve cells in C2C12 cells express anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2.

Parasomnia induced by lemborexant: a case report.

Lemborexant, an orexin receptor antagonist, is effective not only for sleep disorders but also for preventing and treating delirium. To date, no complex sleep-related behaviors due to lemborexant have been reported. Herein, we present the case of a 69-year-old male patient who was hospitalized for oral floor and tongue cancer and developed delirium after surgery; however, upon lemborexant dosage increase, used to treat insomnia, he developed abnormal nocturnal behavior.
