Background: Febuxostat and topiroxostat are non-purine selective xanthine oxidoreductase inhibitors commonly used for hyperuricaemia treatment in Japan. However, comparative data on the effects of febuxostat and topiroxostat on renal function and proteinuria are limited. This study compared proteinuria incidence and changes in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) among prevalent febuxostat and topiroxostat users.

An elevated level of saturated fatty acids (SFAs) can cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). While n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) were shown to improve NAFLD, the effects of n-6 PUFAs in the liver have not been fully elucidated. We examined the association between NAFLD and n-6 PUFAs, particularly dihomo-γ-linolenic acid (DGLA), in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Unlabelled: The hybrid closed-loop (HCL) system, Medtronic MiniMed 770G, has been available for use by Japanese individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus since 2021. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of its use on glycemic variability and quality of life (QOL) in this population. This multicenter, open-label, prospective observational study included 14 Japanese individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus treated with MiniMed 640G.

Background: Studies have revealed that anterior glenoid rim bone resorption occurs in the early stage after arthroscopic Bankart repair (ABR) if bony Bankart lesions are absent or fail to heal. However, this structural change has never been studied after repair by footprint fixation (FF). Additionally, the relationship between the extent of rim resorption and healing of the repaired capsulolabral complex (CLC) remains unclear.
