Anaerobic co-digestion is emerging as an option for wastewater biosolids management. Variations in treatment parameters can impact odour emissions and, in turn, odour nuisance reduces community acceptance and alternatives for beneficial reuse of biosolids via land application. This study assessed odour emissions from digested sludge and biosolids resulting from the anaerobic co-digestion of wastewater sludge with beverage rejects (beer and cola) and food wastes.

Methods: A DL model was trained to contour hippocampi from a dataset generated by an institutional observer (IO) contouring on brain MRIs from a single-institution cohort. The model was then evaluated on the RTOG 0933 dataset by comparing the treating physician (TP) contours to blinded IO and DL contours using Dice and Haussdorf distance (HD) agreement metrics as well as evaluating differences in dose to hippocampi when TP vs.
Epidemiologic studies demonstrate an association between early-life respiratory illnesses (RIs) and the development of childhood asthma. However, it remains uncertain whether these children are predisposed to both conditions or if early-life RIs induce alterations in airway function, immune responses, or other human biology that contribute to the development of asthma. Puerto Rican children experience a disproportionate burden of early-life RIs and asthma, making them an important population for investigating this complex interplay.
