Material And Methods: Twenty-four-hour dietary recalls were collected from the National Nutrition Survey 1999 in children 1-4 years (n =1070). The contribution of each food category to the total energy, macronutrient and fiber intakes was analyzed.
Objective: To compare dietary intake of women supplemented with multiple micronutrients (MM) or iron only during pregnancy.
Design: Randomized, double-blind, controlled community-based trial.
Setting: One semi-urban community in Central Mexico.
We evaluated breast-feeding and complementary feeding practices in Mexico, using data from a national probabilistic survey carried out in 17,716 households, with regional and urban-rural representation. Mothers of children <2 y old (n = 3,191) reported duration of breast-feeding and the ages of usual introduction of 7 food groups. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate the median time of feeding events.
