Management of stored-product pests has historically relied on fumigation when pest populations become large. However, the ban of the fumigant methyl bromide and the ineffectiveness of other pesticides stress the need for alternative fumigants. Therefore, laboratory studies were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of ethanedinitrile (EDN) against different life stages of the mite and to determine the sorption and desorption of EDN by dry-cured ham meat.

Methods: This was a self-controlled, open label, direct-to-family pilot trial. Children with pSLE treated with HCQ were recruited from the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry.
Steel wires are often inadequate for sternal closure for patients at high risk of sternal complications. This study compares a novel sternal closure system to conventional steel wires to assess its potential to reduce sternal complication rates and improve clinical outcomes. A retrospective study was conducted on 300 consecutive patients undergoing cardiac surgery via median sternotomy.

Aberrant signaling across the EGFR-PTEN-AKT-mTOR pathways have been shown as common drivers of glioblastoma. Revealing the inter and intra-cellular heterogeneity within glioma stem cell populations in relations to signaling patterns through these pathways may be key to precision diagnostic and therapeutic targeting of these cells.
