This study reports the synthesis of a new series of pyrazole-isoxazolines, at very good yields, from the cyclocondensation reaction of pyrazole-enaminones with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. Dehydration of the pyrazole-isoxazolines furnished another new series of the respective pyrazole-isoxazoles, at excellent yields. Both series of the obtained compounds were screened for antimycobacterial activity, and compounds 4 f and 5 c showed significant inhibition of bacterial growth with a time- and concentration-dependent bactericidal effect.

Background: The addition of pertuzumab (P) to trastuzumab (H) and standard chemotherapy (CT) as neoadjuvant treatment (NaT) for patients with HER2 + breast cancer (BC), has shown to increase the pathological complete response (pCR) rate, without main safety concerns. The aim of NeoPowER trial is to evaluate safety and efficacy of P + H + CT in a real-world population.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of stage II-III, HER2 + BC patients treated with NaT: who received P + H + CT (neopower group) in 5 Emilia Romagna institutions were compared with an historical group who received H + CT (control group).

Motivation: Graph representation learning is a family of related approaches that learn low-dimensional vector representations of nodes and other graph elements called embeddings. Embeddings approximate characteristics of the graph and can be used for a variety of machine-learning tasks such as novel edge prediction. For many biomedical applications, partial knowledge exists about positive edges that represent relationships between pairs of entities, but little to no knowledge is available about negative edges that represent the explicit lack of a relationship between two nodes.

Article Synopsis
  • Clinical guidelines recommend exercise for cancer patients, but oncology clinicians struggle to make referrals due to time constraints.
  • A quality improvement project involved adding a rehabilitation navigator in chemotherapy clinics, offering a triage survey for exercise recommendations, and assessing its acceptability and feasibility.
  • The project saw high engagement, with 85.3% of patients offered the survey and 45% accepting exercise referrals, indicating potential for regular exercise referrals in cancer care.
