Sequence Length Controls Coil-to-Globule Transition in Elastin-like Polypeptides.

It appeared certain that elastin condensates retain liquid-like properties. However, a recent experimental study demonstrated that their aggregate states might depend on the length of hydrophobic domains. To gain microscopic insight into this behavior, we employ atomistic modeling to assess the conformational properties of hydrophobic elastin-like polypeptides (ELPs).

Nucleation, crystal growth, nuclei stability, and polymorph selection in supercooled tolbutamide melt.

Nucleation is an essential step of overall crystallization, yet crystal nuclei are elusive to direct observation due to their small size and transient nature. A method for assessing the nuclei size distribution and growth rate based on selective melting/dissolving was developed recently, making use of the rapid heating/cooling rate available in fast scanning calorimetry. The method was first employed to study the nuclei in the polymer poly-L-lactic acid.

Synthesis, Structure, and Properties of a Copper(II) Binuclear Complex Based on Trifluoromethyl Containing Bis(pyrazolyl)hydrazone.

A new complex of copper(II) with methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazol-3-yl-ketazine (HL) was synthesized with the composition [CuL]∙CHOH (). Recrystallization of the sample from DMSO yielded a single crystal of the composition [CuL((CH)SO)] (). The coordination compounds were studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy, and static magnetic susceptibility method.

The article considers social, demographic and professional factors determining choice by general practitioners and district therapists of place of employment and their professional motivation. The special questionnaire was developed to be applied in sociological survey. The sampling included general practitioners and district therapists of outpatient medical organizations of the Health Department and the private health care sector of Moscow.

The article presents comparative analysis of demographic, social and professional characteristics of general practitioners and district therapists in state and private medical organizations. Sociological, statistical and analytical research methods were applied. The study was carried out on the basis of polyclinics of both Moscow Health Department and Moscow private health care sector.
