Long-distance stimulated emission imaging has recently been demonstrated as a novel approach for the characterization and imaging of samples containing fluorescent moieties. We present an extension of this methodology through a pump-probe setup for fluorescence lifetime determination and imaging. We measure fluorescence lifetimes of Rhodamine 6G at different solutions and indocyanine green using long-distance fluorescence lifetime imaging.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFInfrared-visible sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy is applied for the first time to monitor CO stretching vibrations on alumina supported Pd nanoparticles in a pressure range from 10(-7) to 200 mbar. The adsorption behavior of Pd aggregates with 3 and 6 nm mean size is dominated by surface defects and two different adsorption sites (twofold bridging and on-top) were identified. The CO adsorption site occupancy on Pd nanocrystals is mainly governed by the gas phase pressure while the structure of the particles and their temperature have a smaller influence.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe propose and demonstrate experimentally a method for utilizing a dynamic phase-encoded photorefractive memory to realize parallel optical addition, subtraction, and inversion operations of stored images. The phase-encoded holographic memory is realized in photorefractive BaTiO(3), storing eight images using Walsh-Hadamard binary phase codes and an incremental recording procedure. By subsampling the set of reference beams during the recall operation, the selectivity of the phase address is decreased, allowing one to combine images in such a way that different linear combination of the images can be realized at the output of the memory.
