Background & Aims: Expression of P21, encoded by the gene, has been associated with fibrosis progression in steatotic liver disease (SLD); however, the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. In the present study, we investigated the function of CDKN1A in SLD.
Methods: expression levels were evaluated in different patient cohorts with SLD, fibrosis, and advanced chronic liver disease (ACLD).
Background And Aims: Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) is a leading cause of liver-related mortality worldwide, with limited treatment options beyond abstinence and liver transplantation. Chronic alcohol consumption has been linked to magnesium (Mg 2+ ) deficiency, which can influence liver disease progression. The mechanisms underlying Mg 2+ homeostasis dysregulation in ALD remain elusive.

Strongly cooperative spin-crossover nanomaterials are arguably the best prototypes of photomagnetic and volume-changing materials that can be manipulated by short pulses of light. Open questions remain regarding their non-equilibrium dynamics upon light excitation and the role of cooperative elastic interactions in nanoscale systems that are characterized by large surface/volume ratios.

Washington State is a global supplier of wild-caught Pacific salmon and local salmon mislabeling results in substantial economic, ecological, and cultural impacts. Previous studies in Washington State identified high levels of mislabeled salmon in both markets and restaurants, resulting in local legislation being passed that requires proper labeling of salmon products, including identifying it as wild-caught or farm-raised.
