The bacterial envelope plays a critical role in maintaining essential cellular functions by selectively regulating import and export. The selectivity of this envelope can restrict the utilisation of externally provided compounds, thereby restricting the functional space of cellular engineering. This study systematically investigates the potential of large pore outer membrane proteins (OMPs) to enhance outer membrane permeability for diverse challenging compounds.

Wintertime Fairbanks, Alaska, experiences episodes of severely poor air quality, when local emissions (, home-heating, vehicular) are enhanced by cold conditions and are trapped by temperature inversions. Monitoring of atmospheric composition, and in particular vertical gradients in composition, is challenging under cold Arctic conditions. This study demonstrates that multiple sets of low-cost electrochemical sensors can provide accurate measurement of CO, NO, NO, and O air composition across wide-ranging cold Arctic temperatures (0 °C to -30 °C).

Background: Therapeutic interventions are widely used in clinical practice to prepare individuals for movement, recover from exercise, and mediate pain and inflammation associated with injury. However, there has yet to be cited consensus regarding when to use such interventions.

Purpose: Using the Delphi method, this study aimed to develop consensus among physical therapists (PTs) and athletic trainers (ATs) regarding the use of percussive, vibration, infrared, heat, and cryotherapy in a variety of treatment circumstances.

Purpose Of The Review: Preeclampsia and the Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy (HDP) occur more frequently amongst Indigenous women and can have short- and long-term impacts on maternal and infant health and wellbeing. To understand factors associated with increased risk for Indigenous women a systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted. The PRISMA guidelines were adhered to, and the review protocol was registered on PROSPERO (Registration CRD42023381847).

Background: Recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (R/M HNSCC) is an aggressive cancer with a median overall survival of only 12 months. Existing biomarkers have limited ability to predict treatment response or survival, exposing many patients to the potential toxicity of treatment without certain clinical benefit. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) has emerged as a non-invasive, real-time biomarker that could address these challenges.
