View Article and Find Full Text PDFNeuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a rare autoimmune disorder of the central nervous system characterized by recurrent, disabling attacks that affect the optic nerve, spinal cord, and brain/brainstem. While rituximab, targeting CD20-positive B-cells, is used as an off-label therapy for NMOSD, some patients continue to exhibit breakthrough attacks and/or adverse reactions. Inebilizumab, a humanized and glycoengineered monoclonal antibody targeting CD19-positive B-cells, has been FDA approved for the treatment of NMOSD in adult patients who are anti-aquaporin-4 (AQP4) antibody positive.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: To understand therapeutic priorities, a secondary data analysis on a retrospective cohort was conducted to classify rehabilitation goals according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF).
Materials And Methods: Therapeutic goals from an initial outpatient physical or occupational therapy evaluation for patients post-stroke or with Parkinson disease, were classified into Level 1 of the ICF. Goals in the Activity and Participation component were further sub-classified as activity capacity or activity performance (self-report or direct) in daily life.
Background: Attenuation in post-vaccination SARS-CoV-2 humoral responses has been demonstrated in people treated with either anti-CD20 therapies or sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulators. In the setting of disease modifying therapy (DMT) use, humoral response may not correlate with effective immunity, and analysis of vaccine-mediated SARS-CoV-2-specific memory T-cell responses is crucial. While vaccination in patients treated with anti-CD20 agents leads to deficient antibody production, emerging data from live cell assays suggests intact T-cell responses to vaccination.

It remains unclear whether humoral/T-cell responses are valid surrogates for postvaccine immunity.
Objective: To characterize COVID-19 vaccine-breakthrough infections in this population.
