It has become popular in recent years, with numerous people including it in their fitness routines to ameliorate their strength, muscle mass, and overall health. Still, resistance training can be complex, requiring careful planning and execution to avoid injury and achieve satisfactory results.

Deep sleep maintains learning efficiency of the human brain.

It is hypothesized that deep sleep is essential for restoring the brain's capacity to learn efficiently, especially in regions heavily activated during the day. However, causal evidence in humans has been lacking due to the inability to sleep deprive one target area while keeping the natural sleep pattern intact. Here we introduce a novel approach to focally perturb deep sleep in motor cortex, and investigate the consequences on behavioural and neurophysiological markers of neuroplasticity arising from dedicated motor practice.

Predominant dendriform pulmonary ossification in a usual interstitial pneumonia-like distribution: to be distinguished from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Idiopathic dendriform diffuse pulmonary ossification (DPO) is a rare disorder. High resolution CT (HRCT) with appropriate osteoporosis window setting reveals the diagnosis. We report the features of eight patients, of whom two brothers, with HRCT findings compatible with predominant DPO in a bibasal subpleural distribution (usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP)-like distribution) and review the literature for DPO in this UIP-like distribution.

Direct eye contact enhances mirroring of others' movements: A transcranial magnetic stimulation study.

Direct eye contact is a powerful social cue to regulate interpersonal interactions. Previous behavioral studies showed a link between eye contact and motor mimicry, indicating that the automatic mimicry of observed hand movements is significantly enhanced when direct eye contact exists between the observer and the observed model. In the present study, we aim to investigate the neurophysiological basis of the previously reported behavioral enhancements.
