Research Question: Are there significant differences between cumulative live birth rates (CLBR) after short or extended embryo culture when comparisons are performed per cycle?

Design: This French national study included all IVF cycles performed from January 2016 to December 2019 with at least one cleaved embryo at day 2. The day 2/3 and day 5/6 groups were identified using the National Biomedicine Agency register. Only attempts involving the vitrification method were included.

Study Question: Can we monitor post-oocyte retrieval infections in the French national health data system to complement the French ART vigilance system?

Summary Answer: Medico-administrative databases provide a more comprehensive view of post-oocyte retrieval infections and can be used to detect abnormal increases in frequency and outlier ART centers as a complementary tool to the ART vigilance system.

What Is Known Already: The various studies of ART complications are reassuring, showing relatively low overall complication rates. Nonetheless, the European Union has set up a vigilance system to monitor these complications.

G-quadruplexes (G4s) continue to gather wide attention in the field of chemical biology as their prevalence in the human genome and transcriptome strongly suggests that they play key regulatory roles in cell biology. G4-specific, cell-permeable small molecules (G4-ligands) innovatively permit the interrogation of cellular circuitries in order to assess to what extent G4s influence cell fate and functions. Here, we report on multivalent, biomimetic G4-ligands referred to as TASQs that enable both the isolation and visualization of G4s in human cells.

At the heart of central carbon metabolism, pyruvate is a pivotal metabolite in all living cells. is able to excrete pyruvate as well as to use it as the sole carbon source. We herein reveal that (renamed ), the only operon specifically induced in pyruvate-grown cells, encodes a hetero-oligomeric membrane complex which operates as a facilitated transport system specific for pyruvate, thereby defining a novel class of transporter.

Bone marrow (BM)-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) frequently display alterations in several hematologic disorders, such as acute lymphoid leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and myelodysplastic syndromes. In acute leukemias, it is not clear whether MSC alterations contribute to the development of the malignant clone or whether they are simply the effect of tumor expansion on the microenvironment. We extensively investigated the characteristics of MSCs isolated from the BM of patients with de novo AML at diagnosis (L-MSCs) in terms of phenotype (gene and protein expression, apoptosis and senescence levels, DNA double-strand break formation) and functions (proliferation and clonogenic potentials, normal and leukemic hematopoiesis-supporting activity).
