Metastatic pulmonary calcification diagnosed by transbronchial cryobiopsy.

Metastatic pulmonary calcification is a rare disease characterized by calcium deposits in the lung. We describe a case where this pathology is observed associated with bone lithic lesions and kidney failure and it was diagnosed with transbronchial cryobiopsy.

Nuclear PDCD4 Expression Defines a Subset of Luminal B-Like Breast Cancers with Good Prognosis.

The hormone receptor-positive (estrogen and/or progesterone receptor (PR)-positive) and HER2-negative breast cancer (BC) subtype is a biologically heterogeneous entity that includes luminal A-like (LumA-like) and luminal B-like (LumB-like) subtypes. Decreased PR levels is a distinctive biological feature of LumB-like tumors. These tumors also show reduced sensitivity to endocrine therapies and poorer prognosis than LumA-like tumors.

Thioctic acid-induced acute cholestatic hepatitis.

Objective: To report a case of severe cholestatic hepatitis caused by thioctic acid in a patient with diabetic peripheral polyneuropathy and mild chronic renal failure.

Case Summary: A 63-year-old man with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism, and stage 2 chronic renal failure was referred to the outpatient liver clinic with fever, asthenia, nausea, and pruritus. Because of the presence of symptomatic diabetic neuropathy, he began treatment with thioctic acid 600 mg/day.

[Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease: case report].

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease is a self-limited condition of young adults, that usually involves the cervical lymph nodes and is associated with persistent hyperthermia. Diagnosis is based on characteristic pathologic findings, that allows the differential diagnosis with other similar clinical conditions. We report one case of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease in a 12 year old girl and review the world literature.
