Weather conditions play an important role in wildfire activity. In many regions, future climate could lead to different fire weather, with impacts on the ignition, behaviour, and suppression of wildfires, which may, therefore, force new fire regimes. This study aimed to assess the evolution of fire weather indices and the Number of Extreme Days (NED) in the context of climate change.

Background: Even though mass gastric cancer screening is controversial in Western countries, diverse strategies have been proposed in intermediate-risk to high-risk areas.
Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the long-term accuracy of the pepsinogen test (PG) for early diagnosis of gastric cancer.
Participants And Methods: A cohort of inhabitants from the Northern part of Portugal, aged between 40 and 74 years (n=5913), subjected to the PG test (PGI≤70 ng/ml and PGI/PGII≤3), were followed up between November 2006 and December 2015.
Objectives: Availability of state-of-the-art technology at intensive care units has often turned into a tool aggravating suffering by prolonging the end-of-life process. Distinguishing therapeutic persistence from therapeutic obstinacy has become a great challenge for present-day medicine. The aim of this study was to assess the benefit-harm relation in the use of life-sustaining therapies by means of an evolutionary system of individual prognostic assessment.
