Objectives: To determine whether plaque composition analysis defined by cardiac CT can provide incremental prognostic value above coronary artery disease (CAD) burden markers in symptomatic patients with obstructive CAD.

Materials And Methods: Between 2009 and 2019, a multicentric registry included all consecutive symptomatic patients with obstructive CAD (at least one ≥ 50% stenosis on CCTA) and was followed for major adverse cardiovascular (MACE) defined by cardiovascular death or nonfatal myocardial infarction. Each coronary segment was scored visually for both the degree of stenosis and composition of plaque, which were classified as non-calcified, mixed, or calcified.

Introduction: This study analyzes urinary tract infections (UTIs) in a hospital in Central Portugal over a five-year period, focusing on bacterial prevalence, patient demographics, and antibiotic resistance patterns. This investigation aims to provide insights that can guide improved infection control and treatment strategies.

Methods: A total of 6161 positive urine cultures collected over five years were examined, with particular emphasis on 2019 due to a peak in infection rates.

Statement Of Problem: Staining at the gingival margin could impact denture longevity, but the behavior of gingival colored composite resins (GCCs) in this area remains unclear.

Purpose: This in vitro study evaluated surface staining, microleakage, and push-out bond strength at the gingival margin of artificial teeth, comparing two consistencies of GCCs with two resin base materials.

Material And Methods: Specimens included artificial teeth (Ivostar; Ivoclar AG) and two acrylic resin base materials: conventional (Ondacryl; Clássico) and high-impact (Diamond D; Keystone Industries) (n=300).

Glioblastoma (GBM) infiltrates the brain and can be synaptically innervated by neurons, which drives tumor progression. Synaptic inputs onto GBM cells identified so far are largely short-range and glutamatergic. The extent of GBM integration into the brain-wide neuronal circuitry remains unclear.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 11 (CLN11) is an ultra-rare subtype of adult-onset Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis. Its phenotype is variable and not fully known. A 21-year-old man was evaluated in our neurogenetic outpatient clinic for early onset complex phenotype, including learning difficulties, cerebellar ataxia, cone-rod dystrophy, epilepsy, and dystonia.
