Background: While mutations in the gene play important roles in human breast carcinogenesis, gene alterations are recognized as actionable mutations for clinical cancer treatment. We aimed to elucidate the role of PIK3R1 in cell proliferation on breast carcinoma and to correlate the PIK3R1 expression with patients' outcome using human tumor tissue arrays.

Methods: Using human BT-474 (estrogen receptor (ER)+/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-high) breast carcinoma cell line as model, the role of PIK3R1 in cell proliferation was elucidated by knock-down of the gene (ΔPIK3R1) in this cell line.

Purpose: To examine the effects of different warm-up methods on 50 m breaststroke performance in both breaststroke specialists and individual medley swimmers.

Methods: 18 swimmers (breaststroke group: 9, individual medley group: 9) who met the qualification standards for the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games participated in this study. Each participant completed four different warm-up protocols (a conventional 1,400 m warm-up and a 700 m conventional warm-up that integrated tubing-assisted (TA), paddle (PD), or squat (SQ) warm-ups) over four separate days.

A class of tetrahydropyrazino[2,1-a:5,4-a']diisoquinoline derivatives were synthesized under environmentally friendly conditions using water as the solvent. The 3-D structures of some synthesized compounds were determined by X-ray diffraction. Since naturally occurring isoquinoline alkaloids have significant antiviral activities against a wide range of viruses, including coronaviruses, the synthesized compounds were assayed for their inhibitory activities against SARS-CoV-2.
