Background: To date, most intradialytic hypotension (IDH) studies have proposed technologies to comprehensively predict the occurrence of IDH using the patient's baseline information and ultrafiltration (UF) information, but it is difficult to apply the technologies while identifying the patient's condition in real time.

Methods: In this study, we propose an IDH indicator that uses heart rate (HR) change information to identify the patient's condition in real time and visually shows whether IDH has occurred. The data used were collected from 40 dialysis patients in a clinical trial conducted in the Artificial Kidney Unit at Yeungnam University Medical Center, Korea, from 18 July to 29 November 2023.

Capsular contracture of breast implants is a major complication in breast surgery. Clinically, covering a breast implant with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) or autologous tissue is considered to be the most effective technique to prevent capsular contracture. This study was designed to compare the protective effects of ADM and latissimus dorsi (LD) muscle flap placement on capsular contracture by increasing the rate of capsular contracture through controlled radiation exposure in a rabbit model.

Genetic alterations play a pivotal role in various human diseases, particularly cancer. The androgen receptor (AR) is a crucial transcription factor driving prostate cancer (PCa) progression across all stages. Current AR-targeting therapies utilize competitive AR antagonists or pathway suppressors.

Herein, we report the development of metal-free one/two-pot procedures for the synthesis of benzo[]isoxazol-3(1)-one (benzisoxazolone) heterocycles by designing diaryliodonium salts featuring -ester or nitrile functional groups. These react smoothly with protected hydroxylamines under mild conditions to produce -arylhydroxylamine intermediates, which readily cyclize to give benzisoxazolone derivatives under acidic conditions. This metal-free process maintains the weak N-O bond, tolerates a wide range of diaryliodonium salts and protected hydroxylamines with diverse functional/protecting groups, thereby overcoming the challenges associated with previous transformations.
