Adolescent Perspectives About Online Hate Speech: Qualitative Analysis in the SELMA Project.

Objective: This paper aims to study the views, perceptions and representations of online hate speech among adolescents in the Greek cohort of the SELMA Project.

Methods: Qualitative research was conducted in focus groups of 36 Greek adolescents and the data were processed through thematic analysis method.

Results: The majority was unfamiliar with the term "hate speech" and confused it with cyberbullying.

Surveillance of brucellosis in a rural area of Greece: application of the computerized mapping programme.

Long term active surveillance of brucellosis was implemented in a rural area (Fokida) of Greece from 1989 to 1993 while the rural area of Grevena was selected as a control area. The computerised mapping programme was used to identify and protect the suspected animal brucellosis free zones. Health education of the inhabitants was further used to teach them how to avoid the risk factors.

Forty-nine cases of murine typhus were diagnosed in recent years in residents of several communities around the city of Chalkis, the capital of the Prefecture of Evia. (Euboea) Evia is an island connected to central mainland Greece by a bridge. To investigate the endemicity of murine typhus in this area, 226 fleas (Xenopsylla cheopis) and blood samples were collected from 53 rats (Rattus norvegicus) trapped in this area.
