Introduction: Esophageal cancer impairs basic functions such as eating and drinking frequently resulting in difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) and other problems such as weight loss, pain, fatigue, and taste alterations. There is still a research gap in understanding the impact of dysphagia on quality of life, as patients continue to bear significant physical and psychological burdens despite advances in treatment. This study attempted to address this gap by examining the lived experiences of dysphagia-related quality of life among esophageal cancer patients.

This study investigates geographic variation in contraceptive use and the individual, community, and regional factors influencing it to guide equitable family planning interventions.
Methods: This study utilized data from the 2022/23 Mozambique Demographic and Health Survey, analyzing a weighted sample of 9,316 women aged 15-49.

Developing highly efficient, cost-effective, and robust electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is paramount for the large-scale commercialization of renewable fuel cells and rechargeable metal-air batteries. Herein, a new ternary-atom catalyst that is composed of paired Fe sites and single Ni sites (as Fe-N and Ni-N) coordinated onto hollow nitrogen-doped carbon microspheres is developed. The as-synthesized catalyst exhibits remarkable activities toward both the ORR and OER in alkaline media, with superior performances to those of the control materials that contain only Fe-N or Ni-N sites.

This study aimed to explore the prevalence of cancer-related fatigue, associated factors, and adult cancer patients' experiences at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital in Ethiopia.
Methods: A mixed-method study was conducted from February 25 to May 15, 2023, via cross-sectional descriptive and phenomenological approaches.
Diet plays a critical role in shaping the gut microbiome, which in turn regulates molecular activities in the colonic mucosa. The state and composition of the gut microbiome are key factors in the development of colorectal cancer. An altered gut microbiome, linked to weakened immune responses and the production of carcinogenic substances, is a significant contributor to colorectal cancer pathogenesis.
