Knowledge, attitudes, practices, and vaccination coverage of medical students toward hepatitis B virus in North Sudan, 2023.

Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a global health issue, particularly among healthcare personnel, including students because of its occupational exposure pattern. Healthcare Workers and medical students are recommended to have better knowledge, attitudes and good practices and vaccination toward infection control in general and HBV in particular. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of medical students from North Sudan regarding HBV and its vaccination coverage.

The Impact of Focused Hip Ultrasound Training on Imaging Quality in Infants With Hip Dysplasia.

Background: The orthopedic department at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital (AJCH) was opened in April 2018. A focused hip ultrasound training course was conducted in April 2019 to improve hip ultrasound imaging quality.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the impact of focused training courses on predefined image quality criteria of infant hip ultrasound in the context of developmental hip dysplasia.

A Photoinducible DNA Cross-Linking Agent with Potent Cytotoxicity and Selectivity Toward Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Cell Line.

DNA interstrand cross-links (ICLs) are the sources of the cytotoxicity of many anticancer agents. Selenium compounds showed great potential as anticancer drugs. In this work, we synthesized a binaphthalene analog containing phenyl selenide (-SePh) as the leaving group and investigated its photochemical reactivity toward DNA as well as its cytotoxicity and selectivity.

Management of severe pediatric Guillain-Barré syndrome in a low-income country: efficacy and safety of therapeutic plasma exchange in pediatric patients: a retrospective study.

Background: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an autoimmune disease that affects the peripheral nervous system leading to motor, sensory, and sometimes autonomic manifestations. Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), which involves the selective removal of pathological molecules, such as auto-antibodies, from plasma, has proven to be safe and effective in adults with GBS. However, its application in pediatric patients lacks sufficient evidence.
