Conversion from calcineurin inhibitors to sirolimus in transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy.

Transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA) is a specific complication of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation with a multifactorial etiology. There is little evidence published regarding the efficacy and factors influencing the outcome of substitution of calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) with other agentsas a widely accepted practice in this disorder; however, there are limited data on the options for immunosuppression manipulation (ISM). In our study, we retrospectively analyzed outcomes of 45 patients with TA-TMA with ISM and substitution either with steroids (steroid group) or anmTOR inhibitor sirolimus (sirolimus group).

[Biometric parameters of vitrectomized eyes].

Aim: To analyze changes in various biometric parameters after vitrectomy.

Material And Methods: Chain gold implants were inserted in the upper eyelids of 70 patients with lagophthalmos due to chronic facial paralysis.

Aim: to study the range of structural changes in the vitreous and to determine spatial position of the lens in case of its dislocation.

Material And Methods: A total of 47 patients (94 eyes) with so-called senile cataract aged from 59 to 83 years were examined. The state of the vitreous was evaluated by means of digital ultrasound examination.

Complex damage of ocular and orbital structures is an important manifestation of sarcoidosis. Incidence of ocular sarcoidosis varies among the different groups of patients. Nevertheless all patients should undergo specific examination of eye and orbit.
