The authors studied formation of mycotoxins (aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, ocher toxin A, sterigmatocystine, patulin, toxins T-2 and HT-2, zearalenon. penicillic and kojic acids) under the conditions of experimental storage of rice grain, which was demonstrated to be comparatively resistant to contamination with mycotoxins. Analysis of 208 samples of rice grain of normal quality did not reveal any mycotoxins.

The formation of mycotoxins by microscopic fungi was studied during experimental storage of freshly harvested corn in cobs and grain at a 26--35% humidity level. During the corn storage in cobs aflatoxins, kojic acid and zearalenon and during the corn storage in grain zearalenon and ochretoxin A were detected in corn. Mycotoxins we found in maximum amounts in the areas of cob storage where the temperature reached 30--45 degrees C due to selfheating.

Spontaneous slow potentials with amplitude ranging from 25 mcV to 1.3 mV and wave duration from 600 to 6000 msec was recorded in the receptive area of the ciliary body. The same potentials persisted even 15--20 min after the death of animal in the enucleative eye as well as in the isolated preparation of the ciliary body with sclera.

The microbial composition of grain harvested in a wet (1973) and dry (1972) season was investigated. The largest amount of strains of Aspergillus flavus--the main producer of aflatoxins-was found in the surface layer of the heap of self-heating grain. The content of toxigenic strains of A.
