This fact was established during a study of tumor pathomorphosis in 206 patients with stage II breast cancer. A degree of therapeutic tumor pathomorphosis showed good correlation with the frequency and duration of a recurrence-free period of disease.
View Article and Find Full Text PDF2,023 patients with breast tumors of medial and central localization (aged up to 60 years) received radical treatment at the Institute and oncological dispensaries of the Republic in 1967-1981 (extensive mastectomy after Urban-Kholdin-680; mastectomy after Halsted-1,343). Extensive mastectomy appeared to considerably improve 5-year survival results in patients with T1-3NO, 1MO tumors.
