Background: More women with congenital heart disease (CHD) reach reproductive age, but little is known of their success in having children. We investigated time trends of CHD in women of reproductive age and maternal CHD in childbirth and compared birth rates in women with CHD to birth rates in women without heart disease.

Methods And Results: In a national cohort, we combined information from five registries in Norway 1994-2014.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the national public health agency of the United States, traumatic brain injury is among the leading causes of mortality and disability worldwide. The consequences of TBI include diffuse brain atrophy, local post-traumatic atrophy, arachnoiditis, pachymeningitis, meningocerebral cicatrices, cranial nerve lesions, and cranial defects. In 2019, the economic cost of injuries in the USA alone was USD 4.

In experiments on Wistar rats, the effect of a new selective JNK inhibitor tryptanthrin oxime (TR-Ox) on parameters of systemic hemodynamics, cardiohemodynamics, and post-infarction fibrosis was studied 4 months after acute myocardial ischemia (1 h) followed by reperfusion. TR-Ox was administered intraperitoneally at a dose of 12 mg/kg 20 min before reperfusion, and then once a day for the next 4 days. Administration of TR-Ox to animals in the acute phase of myocardial infarction contributed to more complete preservation of myocardial viability in the delayed period: a relative increase of muscle elements proportion in the scar, a decrease in the formation of connective tissue areas with complete and >50% replacement of the myocardium, and deceleration of fibrotic scarring in myocardium areas distant from the focus of injury, resulting in improved systolic and diastolic myocardial function.

Introduction: The prevalence of congenital heart disease (CHD) among women of reproductive age is rising. We aimed to investigate the risk of preeclampsia and adverse neonatal outcomes in pregnancies of mothers with CHD compared to pregnancies of mothers without heart disease.

Material And Methods: In a nationwide cohort of pregnancies in Norway 1994-2014, we retrieved information on maternal heart disease, the course of pregnancy, and neonatal outcomes from national registries.

We studied the effectiveness of Xe/O mixture inhalation (30% Xe and 70% O, 20 min for 5 days) in a model of experimental thromboplastin pneumonitis. Inhalation of the studied mixture decreased the intensity of the inflammatory process in the lung tissue assessed by the temperature response of animals, changed lung weight and lung weight coefficient. At acute stage of pneumonitis, an increase in xenon consumption was recorded due to its retention in the gas exchange zone and a natural decrease in oxygen consumption due to partial alveolar/capillary block.
