The most dangerous subtype of breast cancer, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), accounts for 25% of all breast cancer-related deaths and 15% of all breast cancer cases. TNBC is distinguished by the lack of immunohistochemical expression of HER2, progesterone receptors, or oestrogen receptors. Although it has been reported that upregulation of EGFR and VEGFR-2 is associated with TNBC progression, no proven effective targeted therapy exists at this time.

The low constitutive activation of Liver X receptor, an endogenous nuclear receptor with two subtypes (α and β), is a condition lying at the crossroad of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Both natural and synthetic Liver X receptor agonists have reportedly shown remarkable antiproliferative and atheroprotective effects but the repeated doses of its synthetic ones are also paradoxically associated with hyperlipidaemic effects and neurotoxicity, though attributed to the alpha subtype. This highlights the need for novel, safe, and potent LXR-beta-selective agonists.

The long short-term memory (LSTM) algorithm has provided solutions to the limitations of the descriptors-utilizing QSAR models in drug design. However, the direct application of LSTM remains scarce. The effectiveness of a descriptor-free QSAR (LSTM-SM) in modeling the FGFR1 inhibitors dataset while comparing with two conventional QSAR using descriptors (126 bits Morgan fingerprint and 2 D descriptors respectively) as a baseline model was investigated in this study.
