Background: The increasing number of total ankle arthroplasties (TAAs) has led to growing evidence on the risk factors for complications after surgery. However, the role of obesity in this patient group has been the subject of much debate. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to investigate the evidence for untoward effects of obesity following TAA.

Objective: The aim of our work was the Hungarian translation and cultural adaptation of the questionnaire and also validation of the CPCHILD on Hungarian cerebral palsy patients. Further aim was to test the eligibility of the questionnaire for superficial assessment of caregiver's psychological attitudes.
Introduction: The proximal humerus is a frequent site for both primary and secondary bone tumors. Several options are currently available to reconstruct the resected humerus, but there is no consensus regarding optimal reconstruction. The aim of this retrospective study was to compare the functional outcome, complications and patient compliance following four different types of reconstructive techniques.

Based on the database of the Hungarian National Cancer Registry, standardized incidence rates of lung, breast, colorectal, prostate and cervical cancer were compared to standardized mortality data of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office in the period between 2001 and 2015. Then survival analysis was performed on cleansed database.

The closed-loop technique (CLT) for spinopelvic fixation (SPF) uses a single U-shaped rod to restore the spinopelvic biomechanical integrity. The CLT method was designed to provide a non-rigid fixation, however this hypothesis has not been previously tested.

Despite its wide use, there is no evidence for the long-term beneficial effect of the toxin. The authors focused on the short-term effects of the toxin and on the subjective evaluation done by the parents about the botox treatment.

Using COX1 specific methods no aspirin resistance was detected among healthy volunteers. Here we tested the effect of chronic aspirin treatment on platelets from patients with stable coronary artery disease.

Four groups of animals (naive; OG: osteotomized only group; SDG/FDG: slow/fast distraction groups, with 1 mm/3 mm lengthening a day, respectively) were used. Signs of increasing postoperative pain were detected until the 10(th) postoperative day in OG/SDG/FDG, then they decreased in OG but remained higher in SDG/FDG until the distraction finished, suggesting that the pain response is based mainly on surgical trauma until the 10(th) day, while the lengthening extended its duration and increased its intensity.

Method: Three patients suffered from Ewing sarcoma, two had osteosarcoma. The proximal level of the resection was in the line of the growth plate in four patients, and 2 cm below of the growth plate in one patient.
The present study evaluated the histological changes in the muscle tissue after limb lengthening in skeletally immature rabbits and assessed the effect of different lengthening rates on the regeneration and degeneration properties of striated muscle. Thirteen different lengthening protocols were applied on a total of 16 male domestic white rabbits divided into four groups. The histopathological changes were analysed by a semiquantitative method according to the scoring system of Lee et al.

In 31 children with unilateral fibular hemimelia the femoral-tibial length and skeletal age were determined an average of seven times per case by sequential radiographs during growth. From the data, a skeletal age nomogram was developed which shows a steeply declining mean skeletal age pattern in unilateral fibular hemimelia (the slope in girls was -0.

Associations of Hcy level, C677T MTHFR polymorphism, and macrovascular diseases were investigated in 152 patients with SSc and 58 controls. No significant differences in Hcy levels and MTHFR genotypes were found in SSc patients compared to controls or in SSc patients with limited cutaneous compared to diffuse disease.

Twenty-three male domestic white rabbits, divided into six groups, were operated on and different lengthening protocols were used in the mature and immature rabbits. The histopathological changes were analysed by a semi-quantitative method according to the scoring system of Lee et al.

We treated 7 children by surgery between 1980 and 2005. After reporting one child case, we summarize our cases and the cases described in the literature.

This study was to further test the effect of a single TP508 injection in slow release preparation on bone formation during distraction osteogenesis. Rabbits had left tibiae lengthened unilateral lengthener at rate of 1.

The aim of the authors was to find a connection between the progression of scoliosis and the changes of movements of the deformed spine. They also analyse the effect of loading on the deformed spine and reach conclusions with regard to the progression of the spine deformity.

Between 1984 and 2005, the Orthopaedic Department of Semmelweis University elongated 11 humeri (ten patients) for reasons of congenital hypoplasia (four cases), osteomyelitis (three cases), epiphyseolysis, growth plate closure after irradiation and obstetrical paralysis (one case each). The study cohort consisted of five females and five males, with an average age at the time of surgery of 17.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the consequences of fibrosing agent penetrating the medulla of bones. This may be the case when, by mistake, the fibrosing agent is administered into the medulla or when the wall of the cyst ruptures and fibrosing agent is able to drift into the medulla.

This theory was set aside in 1954 by Compere, who concluded that vertebra plana is caused by eosinophilic granuloma and not by osteochondritis as suggested by Calvé. It has been well documented in literature that many factors other than eosinophilic granuloma can cause vertebra plana-like destruction of the vertebral body.
