Összefoglaló. A kender (Cannabis sativa) gyógyhatásainak megítélése napjainkban változóban van, egyúttal igen ellentmondásos. Munkánk célja a kenderrel és készítményeivel kapcsolatos jogszabályi környezet alakulásának a kender gyógyászati alkalmazásának történetével párhuzamos bemutatása.

[Electronic Shiazo waterpipes: a new source of indoor air pollutants].

Background: For some time, a new form of waterpipe smoking has been advertised, where steam stones moistened with aroma fluids (Shiazo) are heated electronically. Since there is no combustion of tobacco, it is often assumed that the produced vapor is not harmful to health. To clarify this issue, we performed a comprehensive inner and outer exposure assessment during the use of an electronic Shiazo waterpipe.

Ecdysteroid-containing food supplements from Cyanotis arachnoidea on the European market: evidence for spinach product counterfeiting.

Phytoecdysteroids like 20-hydroxyecdysone ("ecdysterone") can exert a mild, non-hormonal anabolic/adaptogenic activity in mammals, and as such, are frequently used in food supplements. Spinach is well-known for its relatively low ecdysteroid content. Cyanotis arachnoidea, a plant native in China, is among the richest sources of phytoecdysteroids, and extracts of this plant are marketed in tons per year amounts via the internet at highly competitive prices.

Towards the Nanosheet-Based Photonic Nose: Vapor Recognition and Trace Water Sensing with Antimony Phosphate Thin Film Devices.

A 2D nanosheet-based photonic nose for vapor identification is presented. A HSbP2 O8 nanosheet thin-film sensor with resistive readout is developed for the tracking of trace amounts of water, and a photonic HSbP2 O8 /TiO2 multilayer structure is effective at optically distinguishing between chemically similar solvent vapors through analyte-specific host-guest interactions.

Touchless Optical Finger Motion Tracking Based on 2D Nanosheets with Giant Moisture Responsiveness.

A new optical touchless positioning interface based on ultrasensitive humidity responsive 1D photonic crystals utilizing the giant moisture dependent swelling capacity of 2D phosphatoantimonate nanosheets is presented. The spatially confined, full spectral color change combined with reversible transparency switching induced by the humidity sheath of a human finger allows for real time, true color lateral finger motion tracking under touchless conditions.

Use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) impairs indoor air quality and increases FeNO levels of e-cigarette consumers.

Despite the recent popularity of e-cigarettes, to date only limited data is available on their safety for both users and secondhand smokers. The present study reports a comprehensive inner and outer exposure assessment of e-cigarette emissions in terms of particulate matter (PM), particle number concentrations (PNC), volatile organic compounds (VOC), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), carbonyls, and metals. In six vaping sessions nine volunteers consumed e-cigarettes with and without nicotine in a thoroughly ventilated room for two hours.

Rapid identification of sibutramine in dietary supplements using a stepwise approach.

Adulteration of botanical food supplements with undeclared synthetic drugs is a common problem. One of the most affected product groups are the slimming agents. There are no analytical protocols for the detection of synthetic adulterants from these products.

Infrared emitting and photoconducting colloidal silver chalcogenide nanocrystal quantum dots from a silylamide-promoted synthesis.

Here, we present a hot injection synthesis of colloidal Ag chalcogenide nanocrystals (Ag(2)Se, Ag(2)Te, and Ag(2)S) that resulted in exceptionally small nanocrystal sizes in the range between 2 and 4 nm. Ag chalcogenide nanocrystals exhibit band gap energies within the near-infrared spectral region, making these materials promising as environmentally benign alternatives to established infrared active nanocrystals containing toxic metals such as Hg, Cd, and Pb. We present Ag(2)Se nanocrystals in detail, giving size-tunable luminescence with quantum yields above 1.

[Dietary supplements on the domestic market adulterated with sildenafil and tadalafil].

Mandatory requirements regulating the manufacture and sale of dietary supplements are much less stringent than those related to pharmaceuticals. Hence, the sheer number and diversity of marketed products in this category has shown an unprecedented increase Europe-wide. Not surprising, that cases for incorrect marketing/promotion, incorrect recommendations for product use, as well as reported incidents of questionable product quality and/or deliberate adulterations have also become frequent in recent years.

[Ecdysteroid sources in the Carpathian basin. 11-hydroxy substituted ecdysteroids from the Serratula wolffii Andrae].

Seven ecdysteroids have been isolated from the methanolic extract of the herb Serratula wolffii Andrae. The isolation process involved the removal of polar and apolar contaminants, and also included the separation of the target ecdysteroids from each other by using combined chromatographic methods. Isolation of the pure compounds required a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 consecutive chromatographic steps with different selectivity.

[A novel analgesics made from Cannabis].

Bayer AG has recently announced that it acquired exclusive rights for the marketing of GW Pharmaceuticals' new medicine Sativex in Europe and in other regions. Sativex is a sublingual spray on Cannabis extract basis, and is equipped with an electronic tool to facilitate accurate dosing and to prevent misuses. It is standardized for the THC and CBD.

New Ecdysteroids from Serratula tinctoria.

Six new ecdysteroids have been isolated from SERRATULA TINCTORIA; these are: the 2,22- and 3,22-diacetates of 20-hydroxyecdysone, 5beta-hydroxyrubrosterone, 3-epi-poststerone, 3-epi-rubrosterone, and 22-oxo-20-hydroxyecdysone. These minor compounds were found together with the known ecdysteroids, 20-hydroxyecdysone, its 2-, 3-, and 22-monoacetates, rubrosterone, poststerone, polypodine B (5beta,20-dihydroxyecdysone), pterosterone (25-deoxy-20,24-dihydroxyecdysone), and makisterone C (24-ethyl-20-hydroxyecdysone). All these ecdysteroids were isolated by a combination of several chromatographic techniques (liquid chromatography on alumina, DCCC, and HPLC), then identified using standard mass spectrometric and 2D (1)H-NMR techniques.

Naphthoherniarin: an unusual coumarin derivative from Ruta graveolens.

The roots of RUTA GRAVEOLENS L. afforded the coumarin derivative, 7-methoxy-6-(5,8-dioxo-7-methoxy-3-methyl-5,8-dihydronaphthalen-1-yl)-chromen-2-one, named naphthoherniarin. The structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

The chemistry of khat.

This paper presents a review of literature on the chemical composition of khat (Catha edulis Forsk., Celastraceae). The effect of chewing fresh khat could not be explained satisfactorily by the action of d-norpseudoephedrine which was, for a long time, believed to be the only stimulant in khat.
