Influence of the Size of the Fiber Filler of Corn Stalks in the Polylactide Matrix Composite on the Mechanical and Thermomechanical Properties.

This paper presents results of a study on the effect of filler size in the form of 15 wt% corn stalk (CS) fibers on the mechanical and thermomechanical properties of polylactide (PLA) matrix composites. In the test, polylactidic acid (PLA) is filled with four types of length of corn stalk fibers with a diameter of 1 mm, 1.6 mm, 2 mm and 4 mm.

[Serum prolactin concentration in children with celiac disease].

Granulocyte viability test in children from an environment with heavy metal pollution.

In a group of 43 school-children living near a zinc plant, the test of granulocyte viability by the method of Cocchi et al, the lead level by flame atomic absorptiometry, and the level of erythrocyte zinc-protoporphyrin by the fluorimetric method were determined in peripheral blood. The mean result of the granulocyte viability test was 6.49%.

Serum lipid and lipoprotein profile in children with malabsorption: an approach to the recognition of atherosclerosis risk factors.

Serum lipoproteins, triglyceride, total cholesterol as well as HDL, LDL and VLDL-cholesterol were studied in 35 children, actually well nourished, who as infants suffered from malabsorption syndrome with severe malnutrition. If at the active stage of malabsorption some risk factors of atherosclerosis had been found, at the stage of realimentation no disturbances were encountered. The results did not significantly differ from those of the control group.
