Introduction: After caesarean section a uterine niche can be detected in 42-84% of all women and in 11-45% large defects with a residual myometrium < 2.2 mm occur. If the niche compromises > 50% of myometrial thickness, risk of uterine rupture during birth increases.

Participation of patients and relatives in research means that those affected are involved in the research process in a partnership role. Despite the growing importance of participatory approaches and the large number of available concepts, many researchers and patients are faced with the question of how participatory research can be realized and organized in concrete terms. Plants of the Cerrado have shown some potential for restoration and/or phytoremediation projects due to their ability to grow in and tolerate acidic soils rich in metals. The aim of this study is to evaluate the tolerance and accumulation of metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) in five native tree species of the Brazilian Cerrado (Copaifera langsdorffii, Eugenia dysenterica, Inga laurina, Cedrela fissilis, Handroanthus impetiginosus) subjected to three experiments with contaminated soils obtained from a zinc processing industry (S1, S2, S3) and control soil (S0). The experimental design was completely randomized (factorial 5 × 4 × 3) and conducted in a greenhouse environment during a 90-day experimentation time.

Novel antibacterials agents, 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)tetrahydroquinolines, were prepared using hetero Diels-Alder chemistry and found to be effective in vitro against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). A structure-activity relationship (SAR) study was conducted to determine the important features of this series and to increase the potency of these compounds.
