Objectives: To report the clinical outcomes of the Victo™ (Promedon, Cordoba, Argentina) adjustable artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) implantation in a cohort of patients with severe urinary incontinence (UI) after prostate surgery.
Patients And Methods: This study enrolled patients with UI following prostate surgery who underwent a Victo implantation between May 2018 and December 2023. Patients were prospectively evaluated at baseline, and at 3 and 12 months after device activation, and thereafter annually.
Background: Advanced Life Support (ALS) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is frequently administered by two-member crews. However, ALS CPR is mostly designed for larger crews, and the feasibility and efficacy of implementing ALS guidelines for only two rescuers remain unclear.
Objective: This scoping review aims to examine the existing evidence and identify knowledge gaps in the efficiency of pre-hospital ALS CPR performed by two-member teams.
Introduction: Our objective was to conduct an individual patient data meta-analysis (IPDMA) of the two published randomized placebo-controlled trials of mirabegron in people with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) due to spinal cord injury (SCI) or multiple sclerosis (MS).
Methods: We identified two randomized, placebo-controlled trials. We extracted individual patient data from the trials and evaluated two primary outcomes: change in maximum cystometric capacity and change in the patient perception of bladder condition (PPBC).
Purpose: To evaluate changes in corneal refractive parameters after implantation of a stromal lenticule of different thickness. We assume that the refractive outcome depends on the optical power of the used lenticule.
Methods: We conducted an ex-vivo non-human study on 33 normotonic porcine eyeballs divided into two groups, for 4D and 8D human lenticule implantation.
Kratom is a mixture of compounds that are present in the leaves of the tropical tree Mitragyna speciosa. It is used as a psychoactive agent with both opiate and stimulant-like effects. In this case series we describe the signs, symptoms, and the management of kratom overdose in the prehospital setting and in intensive care.

Indications, potential problems, limitations, and directions of research of adding a live video from smartphones to an emergency call have not been reviewed outside the context of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).

Recent studies have highlighted its expression also in solid tumors, including prostate cancer (PCa), and have described its role primarily in the proinflammatory response and induction of apoptosis. It is up-regulated in some castration-resistant prostate cancers.

The primary objective of this study, therefore, is to describe the use of NTS in practice. The secondary objective is to compare if the performance of NTS varies according to the type of case.

If the paramedic crew arrives at the site earlier or only on their own, analgesia is given after phone-call consultation with the physician or after his arrival at the site. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the indication and administration of sufentanil by paramedics in the treatment of pain in acute trauma adult patients without the physician's control.

Methods: Seventy-eight patients were enrolled into the study, and 66 of them were included into the final analysis. In 49 (74.
Background: The so called ABCDE approach (Airway-Breathing-Circulation-Disability-Exposure) is a golden standard of patient assessment. The efficacy of using cognitive aids (CA) in resuscitation and peri-arrest situations remains an important knowledge gap. This work aims to develop an ABCDE CA tool (CAT) and study its potential benefits in patient condition assessment.

Objectives: The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of AVCs by paramedics with a base physician on the rate of patients treated on site without the need of hospital transfer. The co-primary safety outcome was the frequency of repeated ambulance trips within 48 hours to the same patient.
Urethral stricture disease (USD) represents a complex urological problem. Urethroplasty is considered the gold standard for the treatment of USD. Most available studies report outcome data obtained from retrograde urethrography and uroflowmetry.

Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement was used to perform this systematic review. An electronic search of Cochrane register, Embase, Medline, Scopus (last search 3 March 2018) and screening of reference lists as well as reviews were used to identify the studies.
The density functional theory was used to calculate elastic tensor for the quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnetic compound Cu(en)(H₂O)₂SO₄, with en = C₂HN₂. The bulk, shear, Young moduli, Poisson ratio, and elastic anisotropy were determined for the polycrystalline Cu(en)(H₂O)₂SO₄ by employing the Hill averaging of the single crystal elastic constants. They were compared to the respective quantities for other low-dimensional magnetic systems.

Methods: This prospective, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was conducted in three tertiary centers, and included 78 patients suffering from spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis. Patients were randomized for Mirabegron 50 mg (Group A) or placebo (Group B).
Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective was to evaluate the intra-individual variability of uroflowmetry (UFM) in healthy control subjects and women suffering from stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence.
Methods: A total of 35 healthy controls (group A) and 105 women suffering from urinary incontinence were enrolled in the study. Thirty-five women suffered from stress urinary incontinence (group B), 35 women suffered from mixed urinary incontinence (group C), and 35 women with overactive bladder both dry and wet (group D).
Background: Septic acute kidney injury affects 40-50% of all septic patients. Molecular differences between septic patients with and without acute kidney injury (AKI) are only poorly understood. Here, we investigated gene expression changes that differentiated the subjects who developed septic AKI from those who did not and coupled this approach with traditional parameters of renal physiology.

The method uses an extended adjacency matrix corresponding to the structural graph of the molecule for calculating Green's function between the sites with attached electrodes and consequently states the corresponding conditions the electron-vibration coupling matrix must meet for the observation of an inelastic signal between the terminals. The method can be fully automated and we provide a functional website running a code using Wolfram Mathematica, which returns a graphical depiction of destructive quantum interference configurations together with the associated inelastic propensity rules for a wide class of molecules.

Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy was used to determine elastic properties (Young's modulus E and Poisson's ratio ν) via the eigenfrequencies of the sample and the knowledge of sample mass and dimensions.

TC-3 is an inert heat-sensitive hydrogel, which creates an intravesical bulk providing a slow release of the embedded drug after instillation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of OnabotA, embedded in inert TC-3 hydrogel, in patients with idiopathic overactive bladder (OAB).

The aim of this exploratory study was a discovery-driven analysis of dynamic kidney tissue protein expression changes applied for the first time in a classic large mammal model of sepsis. To achieve this goal, analyses of protein expression alterations were performed in serial samples of kidney cortical biopsies (before, 12 and 22 h of sepsis) in mechanically ventilated pigs challenged with continuous infusion of pseudomonas aeruginosa and compared with sham-operated control data.

The structure of 1-methyl-2-(prop-2-en-1-ylsulfan-yl)-1H-imidazol-3-ium bromide, C7H11N2S(+)·Br(-), has monoclinic (P21/c) symmetry. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯Br and C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure of the title compound undeniably proves that methimazole reacts through the thione tautomer, rather than the thiol tautomer in this system.
