Article Synopsis
  • Zinner syndrome is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the absence of one kidney, cystic dilation of the seminal vesicle, and blockage of the ejaculatory duct; it's often asymptomatic.
  • The diagnosis is usually confirmed through imaging techniques, with ultrasound and CT scans detecting kidney and cyst issues, while MRI is preferred for in-depth pelvic analysis.
  • The case of a 51-year-old man who was incidentally diagnosed with Zinner syndrome during a workup for renal colic highlights the disorder's variability in symptoms and the importance of thorough imaging evaluation in similar cases.
