Advancements in machine learning offer promising avenues for the identification of ADHD symptoms in adults, an endeavour traditionally encumbered by the intricacies of human behavioural patterns. In this paper, we introduce three innovative dual-stream models. The proposed approach utilises a novel multi-modal dataset recorded for ADHD symptoms detection, leveraging RGB video alongside facial, body posture and hand landmark data.

Recently, machine learning methodologies have been incorporated into healthcare systems to facilitate the diagnosis and enhance the potential prediction of treatment outcomes for mental health conditions. In ADHD detection, the previous research focused on utilizing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) or Electroencephalography (EEG) signals, which require costly equipment and trained personnel for data collection.

Effects of Different Anticoagulation Doses on Moderate-to-Severe COVID-19 Pneumonia With Hypoxemia.

Background COVID-19 is a prothrombotic disease that can cause thromboembolism and microthrombi, which could lead to multiorgan failure and death. Since COVID-19 is a relatively new disease, there are guidelines for anticoagulation dosing for COVID-19 patients without consensus on the dosing. We studied the effects of different doses of anticoagulation in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and hypoxemia on any differences in need for high-flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation, and mortality.

Convolutional fusion network for monaural speech enhancement.

Convolutional neural network (CNN) based methods, such as the convolutional encoder-decoder network, offer state-of-the-art results in monaural speech enhancement. In the conventional encoder-decoder network, large kernel size is often used to enhance the model capacity, which, however, results in low parameter efficiency. This could be addressed by using group convolution, as in AlexNet, where group convolutions are performed in parallel in each layer, before their outputs are concatenated.

Molecular diagnosis and phylogenetic analysis of human papillomavirus type-16 from suspected patients in Pakistan.

Background: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is well known pathogen that can cause benign and malignant tumors in humans, yet there is very little information regarding HPV types prevalent in Pakistan.

Methods: A total of 92 cervical secretions were collected from suspected married female patients and used for DNA isolation using a novel isolation method. The samples were tested through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) using already reported primers MY09/MY11, GP5/GP6, GP5+/GP6+, CP65/CP70, CP66/CP69 and SPF1/SPF2 and with those developed in this study including HRT1 and HRT2 primer sets for typing HPV types and HACTB primer set for human beta actin gene as internal positive control.

Induction of ovulation in anestrus ewes using a dopamine receptor antagonist.

Estradiol decreases the pulse frequency of LH during the nonbreeding season through dopaminergic neurons that results in anestrus in the ewe. Long-term administration of sulpiride, a dopamine antagonist, induced ovulation in seasonally anestrus mares. Accordingly, we tested whether sulpiride would induce ovulatory estrus in seasonally anestrus Malpura ewes.

The study was designed to identify the most appropriate roughage to concentrate ratio for Malpura ewes under semi-arid tropical environments. The study was conducted for a period of 35 days and included 30 (2 years old) non-pregnant Malpura ewes weighing between 30 and 35 kg. Estrus synchronization was carried out in all the animals using indigenously developed intravaginal sponges impregnated with progesterone.

The study was conducted with the primary objective to establish the influence of FecB gene mutation on the growth and reproductive performance of Garole × Malpura ewes. The duration of the study was for 5 months involving 97 adult Garole × Malpura (GM) ewes. These 97 animals were segregated based on FecB genotype and the animals were divided into three groups as group I (FecB(BB) ; n = 13), group II (FecB(B+); n = 65), and group III (FecB(++); n = 19).

Estrus synchronization and fixed-time artificial insemination in sheep under field conditions of a semi-arid tropical region.

A study was conducted to assess the success of estrus synchronization and fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) in sheep under field conditions of a semi-arid tropical region. A total of 471 ewes belonging to 17 farmers of four villages in Tonk district of Rajasthan (Jelmiya, Dhani Jaisinghpura, Tantiya and Bheepur) were synchronized for estrus during the years 2011 and 2012. Synchronization of estrus was done by AVIKESIL-S, cost-effective intra-vaginal sponges developed by the Institute and eCG protocol.

Background: Artificial insemination (AI) can serve as a powerful tool to the sheep owners for making rapid genetic progress of their flock. The AI in sheep is mostly performed using fresh semen with two reasons i) lambing rate following trans-cervical AI with frozen semen is limited by the inability of frozen-thawed sperm to transit the cervix and ii) the need of circumventing the cervical barrier through laparoscope aided intrauterine AI. Therefore, AI with frozen-thawed semen is not as widespread in sheep as it is in other domestic species.

An online one class support vector machine-based person-specific fall detection system for monitoring an elderly individual in a room environment.

In this paper, we propose a novel computer vision-based fall detection system for monitoring an elderly person in a home care, assistive living application. Initially, a single camera covering the full view of the room environment is used for the video recording of an elderly person's daily activities for a certain time period. The recorded video is then manually segmented into short video clips containing normal postures, which are used to compose the normal dataset.
