In Situ Synthesis of Alumina Nanoparticles in a Binary Carbonate Salt Eutectic for Enhancing Heat Capacity.

A binary carbonate salt eutectic (LiCO-KCO)-based nanofluid was in situ synthesized by mixing with a precursor material, aluminum nitrate nonahydrate (Al(NO)·9HO). Thermal decomposition of the precursor was successfully carried out to synthesize alumina (AlO) nanoparticles at 1 wt.% concentration.

Investigation of time-temperature dependency of heat capacity enhancement in molten salt nanofluids.

In this study, the time-temperature dependency of heat capacity enhancement in molten salt nanofluids was studied experimentally. The result shows the heat capacity enhancement is directly related to the time-dependent synthesis process. Various samples of a binary salt mixture of LiCO-KCO doped with 1% AlO were prepared by heating and cooling at different rates (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 °C min) along with the pure binary salt mixture.

Audit of deaths less than a week after admission through an emergency department: how accurate was the ED diagnosis and were any deaths preventable?

Aim: To review the causes of death in patients admitted via the emergency department (ED) who died within 7 days of admission and to identify any ways in which ED care could have been better. The study also aims to compare the diagnosis made in the ED and the mortality diagnosis.

Methods: A retrospective study; subjects were all patients who attended the ED over 4 months and died within 7 days of admission.
