Efficacy and safety of bendamustine-containing bridging therapy in R/R LBCL patients receiving CD19 CAR T-cells.

Bridging therapy (BT) after leukapheresis is required in most relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) patients receiving chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. Bendamustine-containing regimens are a potential BT option. We aimed to assess if this agent had a negative impact on CAR-T outcomes when it was administered as BT.

Chiral Aminoalcohol-Derived δ-Lactams Provide Easy Access to Piperidines and Acyclic Five-Carbon Building Blocks Bearing a Tertiary and a Quaternary Stereocenter.

A procedure for the synthesis of enantiopure piperidines and acyclic building blocks (5-aminopentanols, -protected 5-hydroxypentanenitriles) containing a tertiary and a quaternary stereocenter has been developed. Starting from a phenylglycinol- or aminoindanol-derived δ-lactam bearing an alkyl substituent at the α-position of the ,-acetal carbon, easily accessible by a cyclocondensation reaction, the stereoselective dialkylation at the carbonyl α-position generates the quaternary stereocenter and the subsequent two-step reductive removal of the chiral inductor provides enantiopure 3,3,5-trisubstituted piperidines. Alternatively, the simultaneous reductive opening of the oxazolidine and piperidone rings of the dialkylated lactams followed by reductive or oxidative cleavage of the chiral inductor opens access to chiral 2,2,4-trisubstituted 5-amino-1-pentanols or 2,4,4-trisubstituted 5-hydroxypentanenitriles.

King cobra () is a snake widely distributed through southeastern tropical Asia, but in two separate subpopulations: one located in the Western Ghats (western Indian Peninsula) and the other much more extensive, ranging between the southern slopes of the Himalayas, Assam, Indochina to southeastern China. Similarly, it also appears in numerous tropical archipelagos such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Andaman Islands, but surprisingly it is absent from other large islands like Sri Lanka and Taiwan. In this study, we evaluated how climate could be shaping the distribution of this snake and estimated the future distribution of the species utilizing ecological niche modelling.

Humiclike substances (HLS) have been demonstrated to be useful auxiliaries to drive the (photo)-Fenton process at mild pH, by avoiding iron inactivation via formation of active complexes.
