We present a novel approach to the analysis of fluctuations in human myoelectrical gastric activity measured noninvasively from the surface of the abdomen. The time intervals between successive maxima of the wavelet transformed quasi-periodic electrogastrographic waveform define the gastric rate variability (GRV) time series. By using the method of average wavelet coefficients, the statistical fluctuations in the GRV signal in healthy individuals are determined to scale in time.

Generally, there are known two types of classifications: a) based on nasal cytology (Connell 1983); b) arising from clinical evaluations (Mygind 1985). Zeiger's work (1989) takes into consideration both types of classifications and describes them widely.

A number of diseases and syndromes of nonallergic mechanisms (non IgE mediated) with nose and sinus symptoms and the presence of eosinophilic cells have been described in the recent decade. The paper focuses on the discussion of the symptomatology and classification of such cases.

The controls included: spontaneous blastic transformation of lymphocytes found in healthy subjects (15) and lymphocytes blastic transformation in healthy subjects in the presence of serum from other healthy subjects (13). The tests have demonstrated that the serum of the Motor Car Factory workers statistically significantly stimulated lymphocytes blastic transformation, unlike the serum of healthy subjects.

In addition, in the selected groups, the levels of IgA, IgG and IgM immunoglobulins, complement C3 fraction and alpha2 macroglobulins were determined. Results of objective and enzymatic examinations indicate a slight toxic liver lesion.

Physical symptoms of cardiac muscle degeneration were found in 7,3%, electrocardiographical symptoms in 11,1%, whereas in 9,9% miners hypertension was found. No significant difference between the frequency of these diseases in pit miners, as compared with those manual workers working on the surface of the mines, was found.
