Postoperative pain management following spine surgery remains a significant challenge, often requiring multimodal approaches to achieve adequate analgesia while minimizing side effects. The thoracolumbar interfascial plane (TLIP) block has emerged as a novel regional anesthesia technique for addressing this issue. By targeting the interfascial plane between the erector spinae and quadratus lumborum muscles at the thoracolumbar junction, the TLIP block aims to provide targeted analgesia to the surgical site while reducing systemic opioid requirements.
