Measuring health professionals' capability to respond to health consumers' health literacy needs: a scoping review.

Health literacy-responsive health professionals will be increasingly important in addressing healthcare access and equity issues. This international scoping review aims to understand the extent and ways in which health professionals respond to healthcare users' health literacy, identifying tools used to measure health literacy responsiveness and training to support the development of these attributes. Four online databases were searched.

Diagnostic value of repeated comprehensive investigation with CT urography and cystoscopy for recurrent macroscopic haematuria.

Objectives: To perform a descriptive analysis of a series of patients with recurrent macroscopic haematuria after a primary standard evaluation including computed tomography urography (CTU) and cystoscopy negative for urinary bladder cancer (UBC) and upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC) and to identify potential factors associated with occurrence of recurrent macroscopic haematuria.

Methods: All patients older than 50 years who underwent urological investigation for macroscopic haematuria with both cystoscopy and CTU 2015-2017 were retrospectively reviewed. A descriptive analysis of the primary and later investigations for recurrent macroscopic haematuria was performed.

Long-term efficacy of selective arterial embolisation of renal angiomyolipoma.

Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy of selective arterial embolisation in renal angiomyolipoma (AML), with emphasis on tumour shrinkage, potential regrowth and the necessity of supplementary procedures.  Material and methods: A retrospective review of all 58 consecutive embolisations at two institutions, between 1999 and 2018, was performed. Clinical notes, laboratory data and imaging were reviewed.

Barriers to the success of COVID-19 immunisation programs in New Ireland Province, Papua New Guinea.

Introduction: Although guidance exists for the public health activities recommended for the management of COVID-19 in Papua New Guinea (PNG), community vaccine hesitancy has been identified as a major challenge. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, people living in rural and remote communities, the socioeconomically disadvantaged and those with certain pre-existing medical conditions are disproportionally affected by COVID-19. This project aimed to address the reasons for community vaccine hesitancy in New Ireland Province, PNG.

Ambient sampling of real-world residential wood combustion plumes.

Wood smoke contains large quantities of carbonaceous aerosols known to increase climate forcing and be detrimental to human health. This paper reports the findings from our ambient sampling of fresh residential wood combustion (RWC) plumes in two heating seasons (2015-2016, 2016-2017) in Upstate New York. An Aethalometer (AE33) and a pDR-1500 were employed to monitor residential wood smoke plumes in Ithaca, NY through a hybrid mobile-stationary method.

Deep learning-based classification and structure name standardization for organ at risk and target delineations in prostate cancer radiotherapy.

Radiotherapy (RT) datasets can suffer from variations in annotation of organ at risk (OAR) and target structures. Annotation standards exist, but their description for prostate targets is limited. This restricts the use of such data for supervised machine learning purposes as it requires properly annotated data.

A rare case of a necrotized urethral prolapse in a postmenopausal woman with acute urinary retention.

Case: Urethral prolapse (UP) is a rare condition with unknown etiology. We reported on an 86-year-old woman with a normal BMI and cystocele, presented with acute urinary retention and perineal pain. A residual urine of 950 mL was measured and released by an indwelling catheter.

Development and evaluation of a deep learning based artificial intelligence for automatic identification of gold fiducial markers in an MRI-only prostate radiotherapy workflow.

Identification of prostate gold fiducial markers in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images is challenging when CT images are not available, due to misclassifications from intra-prostatic calcifications. It is also a time consuming task and automated identification methods have been suggested as an improvement for both objectives. Multi-echo gradient echo (MEGRE) images have been utilized for manual fiducial identification with 100% detection accuracy.

Improving the impact of non-pharmaceutical interventions during COVID-19: examining the factors that influence engagement and the impact on individuals.

Background: During an evolving outbreak or pandemic, non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) including physical distancing, isolation, and mask use may flatten the peak in communities. However, these strategies rely on community understanding and motivation to engage to ensure appropriate compliance and impact. To support current activities for COVID-19, the objectives of this narrative review was to identify the key determinants impacting on engagement.

Renal angiomyolipoma-patient characteristics and treatment with focus on active surveillance.

To present a patient material of renal angiomyolipoma (AML) with focus on the risk of bleeding during active surveillance (AS). Medical records, 1999-2014, were studied and 98 patients (80 female, 18 men) with renal AML were identified. Eleven patients had tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).

Rapid NMR Relaxation Measurements Using Optimal Nonuniform Sampling of Multidimensional Accordion Data Analyzed by a Sparse Reconstruction Method.

Nonuniform sampling (NUS) of multidimensional NMR data offers significant time savings while improving spectral resolution or increasing sensitivity per unit time. However, NUS has not been widely used for quantitative analysis because of the nonlinearity of most methods used to model NUS data, which leads to problems in estimating signal intensities, relaxation rate constants, and their error bounds. Here, we present an approach that avoids these limitations by combining accordion spectroscopy and NUS in the indirect dimensions of multidimensional spectra and then applying sparse exponential mode analysis, which is well suited for analyzing accordion-type relaxation data in a NUS context.

A Descriptive Study of Objectively Measured Pokémon GO Playtime in College Students.

Since its debut in July 2016, Pokémon GO has been a wildly popular mobile gaming app. In contrast to many previous apps, Pokémon GO requires the user to be physically active. However, the extent to which Pokémon GO contributes to physical activity is unknown.

In-migration, customary land tenure, and complexity: exploring the relationship between changing land tenure norms and differentiated migrant livelihoods in Brong Ahafo, Ghana.

This article focuses on the relationship between in-migration from Northern Ghana and changing land tenure norms in Ghana's central "transition zone" in Brong Ahafo Region. Using the complex adaptive systems (CAS) theoretical framework, it theorizes this relationship as part of a wider set of "co-evolving" social and environmental conditions across Brong Ahafo. It presents new qualitative research findings which show differentiated livelihood trajectories for Northern Ghanaian migrant farmers in Brong Ahafo in three case study sites in different districts and links these to migrants' diverse land tenure arrangements under customary tenure regimes in Brong Ahafo.
