Aim The purpose of this study was to evaluate alveolar height at the antral floor following dental implant placement after an indirect sinus lift using osseodensification (OD) with the HaeNaem bur system. Materials and methods A total of 12 patients seeking implant rehabilitation in the maxillary posterior region were selected for the study. Preoperative cone beam CT (CBCT) was performed to measure the residual crestal bone height (RCBH).

The choice of implant length in relation to the available bone quality and quantity and biting force is a critical factor in the success of implants and longevity of the prosthesis. Long implants have always been considered more desirable in this respect but in patients with advanced alveolar bone resorption, their placement is problematic due to the anatomic boundaries. This holds more true in relation to the posterior maxilla wherein the residual crestal bone height is usually compromised due to pneumatizing sinus floor.

Background: Stem cells of mesenchymal origin have good proliferative capacity when compared to other stem cell types. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are a variety of mesenchymal cells obtained from the pulpal tissue of teeth and are abundantly available and easy to obtain. DPSCs facilitate and improve the formation of new bone using different bone graft scaffolds.

Context: There has been extensive focus on forensic odontology with an increase in the research for age estimation procedures. Teeth are biological markers for human age estimation. In adults, age estimation with a tooth has to be done by the analysis of cementum annulations, root transparency and determination of aspartic acid racemization.

Myoepitheliomas (MEs) are extremely rare benign neoplasms composed of ectodermally derived contractile smooth muscle cells (myoepithelial cells). Various tissues such as the salivary glands, breast, larynx, and sweat glands show the presence of these myoepithelial cells. They occur, principally, in the parotid gland and infrequently in minor salivary glands.

A rare and aggressive form of tumor with a female predilection and more seen with mandible is the clear cell odontogenic carcinoma (CCOC). The World Health Organization categorized it as a malignant neoplasm in 2005. This type of tumor is characterized by local recurrences as well as distant metastasis apart from being highly aggressive in nature.

This report demonstrates the clinical use of a modified, truly anatomic, root analogue zirconia implant for immediate replacement of a right mandibular first premolar. A 22-year-old female patient with chronic apical periodontitis of the right mandibular first premolar was referred and the tooth was carefully extracted. A truly anatomical, root identical, roughened zirconia implant modified by macro-retentions was manufactured and placed into the extraction socket by tapping 3 days later.

Background: Hematometra is a rare condition caused by obstruction of the lower female genital tract resulting in an accumulation of menstrual fluid in the uterine cavity. Although most commonly a result of congenital abnormalities, in older women, the obstruction is usually acquired and occurs at the level of the cervix. The Manchester repair procedure, done for uterocervical prolapse as an alternative to vaginal hysterectomy, carries a risk of cervical scarring resulting in stenosis and hematometra.
