Under the Microscope: A Case Report of Thoracic SMARCA4-Deficient Undifferentiated Tumor with Review of the Literature.

Objective: SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumor (SMARCA4-UT) is a highly malignant neoplasm with an undifferentiated or rhabdoid phenotype, posing a diagnostic challenge. This case report aims to create awareness about this rare neoplasm while dealing with cases presenting with undifferentiated morphology.

Granulomatous infection of parotid gland and its subcutaneous tissue by Mycobacterium abscessus subspecies massiliense in a 3-year-old child.

Acid fast bacilli positive granulomatous infections by non-tubrerculous mycobacteria are often misdiagnosed as tuberculosis. We present a case of parotid gland infection and abscess in the subcutaneous tissue over the gland which was suspected as tuberculosis by ultrasonogram and histopathology examinations. Mycobacterium abscessus subspecies massiliense was isolated and identified.

An unusual case of neutrocytic, culture-negative meningitis in an immunocompetent adult.

Assessment of HER2/Neu status by fluorescence in situ hybridization in immunohistochemistry-equivocal cases of invasive ductal carcinoma and aberrant signal patterns: a study at a tertiary cancer center.

Introduction: HER-2/neu status determines the eligibility for targeted therapy with trastuzumab in breast carcinoma. Evaluation for HER-2/neu protein expression by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and gene amplification by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) has become the gold standard.

Aims: Since data on HER-2/neu assessment by IHC and FISH and studies regarding concordance between the results of the two techniques are limited, especially from India, we sought to study HER-2 gene amplification status by FISH in equivocal (2+) cases by IHC and also study aberrant signal patterns.

Novel mutations of CYP3A4 in fine needle aspiration cytology samples of breast cancer patients and its clinical correlations.

Human Cytochrome P450 3A4 is a major P450 enzyme in the liver and gastrointestinal tract. It plays an important role in the metabolism of a wide variety of drugs, some endogenous steroids, and harmful environmental contaminants. To investigate the interindividual variation in CYP3A4 levels we have carried out a study on the genetic polymorphism of 100 breast cancer subjects using fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) sampling procedure.
