Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is common among morbidly obese people. Bariatric surgery is increasingly used in this population to control weight but is not free of risks. We present the case of a 28-year-old morbidly obese woman who underwent gastroplasty with intestinal resection and a gastro-jejunal anastomosis.

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) co-infection is a common problem in the world, with an estimated prevalence of up to 8%. We report a 27-year-old man admitted to the intensive care unit with an acute liver failure by HBV. During hospital stay, a co-infection with HIV virus was detected.
