Subretinal abscess due to Nocardia farcinica resistant to trimethoprim- sulfamethoxazole in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus.

Purpose: To report a case of subretinal abscess due to Nocardia farcinica resistant to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus on immunosuppressive therapy.

Design: Observational case report.

Methods: We retrospectively studied the medical record of a patient with nocardiosis.

Spontaneous pneumothorax during pregnancy.

Spontaneous pneumothorax complicating pregnancy is rare. Only 41 cases have been previously published. We describe a case of spontaneous pneumothorax successfully treated with tube thoracostomy during the 38th week of pregnancy.
