The explosion of generative AI offers promise for neuroimaging biomarker development in psychiatry, but effective adoption of AI methods requires clarity with respect to specific applications and challenges. These center on dataset sizes required to robustly train AI models along with feature selection that capture neural signals relevant to symptom and treatment targets. Here we discuss areas where generative AI could improve quantification of robust and reproducible brain-to-symptom associations to inform precision psychiatry applications, especially in the context of drug discovery.

However, cost-effective noninvasive tests, such as high-sensitivity guaiac-based fecal occult blood test (gFOBT) and fecal immunochemical test (FIT), are also used. The COVID-19 pandemic had a substantial negative impact on CRC screening rates.

Microbial products of the murine gut have been shown to affect striatal gene expression, and depletion of the microbiome by antibiotic treatment alters cocaine-induced behavioral sensitization in C57BL/6J male mice. Some reports suggest that cocaine-induced behavioral sensitization is correlated with drug self-administration behavior in mice.

To test the hypothesis that the microbiome affects addiction predisposing behaviors and cocaine intravenous self-administration (IVSA) and to identify specific microbes involved in the relationship, we performed 16S rRNA gene sequencing on feces from 228 diversity outbred mice. Twelve open field measures, two light-dark assay measures, one hole board and novelty place preference measure significantly differed between mice that acquired cocaine IVSA (ACQ) and those that failed to acquire IVSA (FACQ).

This study aims to understand experiences of reporting consent violations within a kink context. Kink practitioners ( = 2,888) completed a survey focused on consent violations, reporting, and recommendations, with 767 (25.

We evaluated patients commenced on CPAP in 2019 (prepandemic) and 2020 (post-first UK wave). Face-to-face (F2F) setup numbers, with CPAP turned on, decreased from 613 patients (98.

Despite this growing popularity, these populations are often stigmatized and misunderstood (Bettinger, 2002).

Background: As behaviors, alternative sexual (alt-sex) (i.e., kink, bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism, and masochism , consensual non-monogamy, swinging, leather, and fetish practices) practitioners often emphasize that consent and boundaries are key elements of alt-sex activities.

Design: Adult members of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom ( = 332) completed an online cross-sectional health assessment.
Main Outcome Measures: The assessment included the Coping Self-Efficacy (CSE) Scale; Depression and Anxiety Stress Scale-21; and Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test.
Aims: Protamine sulfate is commonly used to reverse the action of heparin after catheter ablation procedures. Serious protamine-related adverse effect is rare, but its recognition and appropriate management by electrophysiologists and intensivists is important. Direct ventricular fibrillation (VF) soon after a slow infusion of protamine has not been clearly described.

The present study assesses the question of stalking victimization prevalence among three groups. Psychosocial risk and protective factors associated with stalking victimization experiences were assessed.

Pressure garment therapy (PGT) is a standard part of burn scar management, but there is little evidence of its clinical effectiveness or cost-effectiveness.
Objective: To identify the barriers to, and the facilitators of, conducting a randomised controlled trial (RCT) of burn scar management with and without PGT and test whether or not such a trial is feasible.
Neural networks that undergo acute insults display remarkable reorganization. This injury related plasticity is thought to permit recovery of function in the face of damage that cannot be reversed. Previously, an increase in the transmission strength at Schaffer collateral to CA1 pyramidal cell synapses was observed after long-term activity reduction in organotypic hippocampal slices.

We tested psychometric properties and construct validity of a 27-item measure, the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale (LGBIS). The sample consisted of 475 adult (178 male, 237 female, 16 male-to-female, 14 female-to-male, and 30 gender queer persons) members of a special interest group, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom.
