We report the Cu(II) catalyzed synthesis of β-disubstituted ketones from styrene via oxo-alkylation with unactivated cycloalkanes as the alkylating agent in presence of tert-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) and 1-methylimidazole as oxidant and base respectively. β-disubstituted ketones are known to be synthesized by using either expensive Ru/Ir complexes, or low-cost metal complexes (e. g.

Chemical contaminants, such as pesticide residues (PRs), can contaminate it due to its high bio-accumulation nature. Limited research exists on the presence of PRs in edible seaweeds, their decrease in levels during cooking processes, and the evaluation of hazard indices and associated health risks to humans.

Four Salmonella were isolated from 384 swab samples collected from various contact surfaces of fishing boats, fish landing centres and seafood processing plants. One out of four isolates was from the fishing boat (FB I -1) other three isolates were from the seafood processing plant (FPPII -4, FPPII- 5, FPPI-3).

The concentrations of eight trace elements (chromium, cobalt, copper, zinc, arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead) in14 commercially important fish and shellfish collected from Thoothukudi along the southeast coast of India was investigated using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry in order to assess the health risks associated with their consumption. The concentration of trace elements ranged from 0.001 to 39.

The concentration of OCPs in all the seaweeds was in the order of endosulfan > endrin > HCH > DDT > aldrin > heptachlor > methoxychlor. The concentrations of HCH, endrin, endosulfan, and DDT in Sargassum wightii and Gelidiella acerosa, and HCH and endosulfan in Gracilaria verrucosa were above the limits prescribed by the European Commission.

A total of 146,011 SNPs were identified with respect to reference genome which are indicus specific, out of which 10,519 SNPs were found to be novel. Similarly, a total of 87,047 SNPs were identified with respect to reference genome.

However, there is a paucity of data in the literature on their safety and efficacy. Recently, the Indian Government has called for a ban on all e-cigarettes and taken steps to restrict access to vaping products from the market.

A total of 80 samples belonging to Arunachali yak (N = 20), Himachali yak (N = 20), Ladakhi yak (N = 20) and Sikkimi yak (N = 20) of India were used in the study. The results of the study revealed a total of 579575 high quality SNPs along with 50319 INDELs in the Indian yaks.

Objective: The objective is to assess the level of parental satisfaction of pediatric day-care surgery and its different determinants.
Materials And Methods: This is a descriptive study performed in a tertiary care hospital in India among parents of pediatric day-care surgery patients from June 2013 to March 2015. The core questionnaire for the assessment of patient satisfaction for general day care (COPS-D) was used.
