Diabetes mellitus and malignant tumors are among the most common and complex diseases. Epidemiological studies have shown a strong relationship between these pathologies. The causality of this relationship has not yet been unambiguously established, but a number of probable biological mechanisms have been proposed to explain it through the effects of hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia on the process of oncogenesis.

To estimate the risk of overall mortality, mortality by cause, and cancer incidence associated to DNA damage, a cohort of 2,403 healthy individuals (25,978 person-years) screened in 16 laboratories using the comet assay between 1996 and 2016 was followed-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated a worse overall survival in the medium and high tertile of DNA damage (p < 0.

An experimental model of MPMT with one dominating tumor was developed. Female BALB/c nude mice received simultaneous subcutaneous inoculation of Guerin's carcinoma (5×10 tumor cells in 0.

One of the open issues concerning this assay is the identification of those factors that can explain the large inter-individual and inter-laboratory variation. International collaborative initiatives such as the hCOMET project - a COST Action launched in 2016 - represent a valuable tool to meet this challenge.

The study included albino male rats (n=74). In the main group, M1 sarcoma was transplanted subcutaneously (n=11) or into the subclavian vein (n=11) 45 days after CNP modeling.

The content of GSH and the activity of SOD, GPx, GR, GST were significantly increased, while MDA was decreased in the tissue of the primary carcinoma of the vulva in compared with the healthy tissue.

Changes in the redox balance in them can result in disruption of the normal tissue control. Understanding of the biology of redox processes in a particular tumor and its surroundings, and of their functioning mechanisms is necessary for the development of new anti-cancer strategies based on the effects on the redox state of the tumor and surrounding tissue.

Among all studied groups of oncogynecological patients, the most expressed decreasing of functional activity of albumin binding toxic compounds is observed under ascitic form of ovary cancer. In the group of patients with ovary cancer of stage I-II and also in condition of remission of process in patients with ovary cancer of stage III, the values of total and effective concentration of albumin and its binding capacity, on the contrary, are approaching to donor values.

Dysbiotic manifestations in the gastrointestinal tract are widely spread. They are characterized by a prolonged, persistent course with the tendency to transition to the chronic form and poorly respond to corrective treatment. The occurrence of high concentrations is 70% for Klebsiella oxytoca, while for K.

In children living in an ecologically unfavorable area the quantitative content of bifidobacteria and enterococci appeared to be considerably decreased while the level of sulfate-reducing clostridia, on the contrary, elevated. The suppression of bifidoflora leads to decreased immune responsiveness that promotes different somatic diseases. Bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis, allergic diseases, diseases of digestive organs, acute respiratory virus infections are more often registered in children living in ecologically unfavorable Central district than in children living in the ecologically favorable Lenin district.

In 525 young children the state of intestinal microbiocenosis was studied every month of the first year their life. The study revealed that the process of the microflora formation lasted throughout the first year of their life and was characterized by dysbiotic disturbances. During this period the aggravation of dysbiotic changes in the intestine of these children on months 3, 6-7 and 11-12 was of particular importance.

The state of microflora of the large intestine in 877 persons of different age groups in Kemerovo was studied. The study revealed that intestinal dysbacteriolysis of various degrees of severity was rather widely spread among the residents of the city. The main groups of risk, found to comprise young children, adolescents and people above 60 years of age, were established.

In 108 K. pneumoniae clinical strains isolated in pneumonia (32 strains), inflammatory processes of the urinary tracts (36 strains) and toxicoseptic states (40 strains) caseinolytic, gelatinase, phosphatase, lecithinase activities and the capacity for producing DNAase and RNAase were studied. The presence of caseinolytic activity was found in 38 cultures (35.

The heterogeneity of strains with respect to their antilysozyme and anti-interferon activity is described. As revealed in this study, these properties occur more frequently and considerably to a greater extent in strains isolated from patients with Klebsiella infections and from carriers.

The in vitro data were applied to the clinical trials in 30 patients with chronic and acute pyelonephritis of the Proteus etiology and to 25 patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of Staphylococcus etiology. It was shown that the use of the antibiotics which lowered the ++anti-lysozyme activity of microorganisms promoted a more rapid disappearance of the disease clinical signs, increased 2- to 3-fold the terms of the remission and resulted in an increase in the number of the persons with complete remission (54.
