Palisading adenocarcinoma. Case report on a newly recognized tumor in the salivary glands.

A palisading adenocarcinoma arising in the left submandibular salivary gland in a 65-year old woman is presented here. This tumor has been identified only very recently and its recognition as a true entity in the list of salivary gland tumors is still pending. Its distinct clinical-pathological context includes a predilection for women, sublingual or submandibular gland involvement, low-grade cytology with pseudo-neuroendocrine features, and sharp immunohistochemical expression.

Hydrophobicity and Biodegradability of Silane-Treated Nanocellulose in Biopolymer for High-Grade Packaging Applications.

The growing concern about pollution produced by plastic waste and the consequent environmental dangers has led to increased interest in replacing plastics with sustainable and biodegradable alternatives. Biopolymers such as seaweed have been examined for their film-forming characteristics to make edible films for packaging applications. This study aimed to prepare biopolymeric packaging films through a solvent-casting process using natural red seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii) and kenaf cellulose nanofiber (CNF), followed by film surface treatment using silane.

Here, we report the successful incorporation of group I elements (K, Na, Li) to ZnO nanowires. Three distinct (2, 4, and 6 wt.%) doping concentrations of group I elements have been used to generate high piezoelectric voltage by employing a vertically integrated nanowire generator (VING) structure.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess self-reported social media use, professional behaviors online, and perceptions on e-professionalism while using social media among dental students in two Southeast Asian universities.

Methods: This cross-sectional study involved clinical dental students at University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia (n = 150) and Airlangga University (AU), Indonesia (n = 150). A questionnaire was distributed using Google Form via WhatsApp network.

This study investigated the anhydride modification effect of propionic and succinic anhydrides on Kenaf fibre's functional properties in vinyl ester bionanocomposites. An unusual case of neurothekeoma of the arm in an adult.

Thyroidectomy for Painful Thyroiditis Resistant to Steroid Treatment: Three New Cases with Review of the Literature.

Processing of IgA aggregates in a rat model of chronic liver disease.

Heavy alcohol intake and/or lipotrope-deficient diet induced hepatocellular injury and mesangial deposition of IgA and often IgG in Lewis rats. The experimental animals showing more severe urinary abnormalities and histologic damage in the glomeruli had increased levels of IgA antibodies to dietary antigens and altered intestinal permeability. Based on human studies, the prolonged circulation of IgA-containing complexes associated with the liver disease could be envisaged as important for the development of mesangial IgA deposits.

Simulation of right atrial cardiac myxoma by silent hepatocellular carcinoma.

A clinically silent hepatocellular carcinoma presenting as a mixoma of the right atrium is described. Intra-atrial growth has been reported in advanced, clinically manifested cases of liver carcinomas in African and Japanese subjects, but very occasionally in Caucasian people. Our case further suggests that this occurrence should also be considered in Western Countries.
