Objective: To compare the effectiveness of intra-bursal injection of single-dose platelet-rich plasma (PRP) against corticosteroids under ultrasonography guidance in shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS).

Materials And Methods: This single-blind randomized controlled trial was conducted on 60 participants with a clinical diagnosis of SIS from a selected orthopedic clinic. Thirty participants in each arm were given a single dose of either PRP or triamcinolone acetonide into the subacromial sub-deltoid bursa (SASD) under ultrasonography guidance.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to describe the clinical features, management, and outcomes of desmoid tumors (DTs) in familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) patients at a high-volume sarcoma center.

Methods: Consecutive patients with FAP and DTs were identified from our institutional databases (1985-2021). Patient demographics, treatment, and outcomes were described.

Background: Radiomics involving quantitative analysis of imaging has shown promises in oncology to serve as non-invasive biomarkers. We investigated whether pre-treatment T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be used to predict response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer.

Materials And Methods: MRI scans were obtained for 102 patients with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC).

Background: Multi-visceral resection often is used in the treatment of retroperitoneal sarcoma (RPS). The morbidity after distal pancreatectomy for primary pancreatic cancer is well-documented, but the outcomes after distal pancreatectomy for primary RPS are not. This study aimed to evaluate morbidity and oncologic outcomes after distal pancreatectomy for primary RPS.

Aim: We investigated quantitative ultrasound (QUS) in patients with node-positive head and neck malignancies for monitoring responses to radical radiotherapy (RT).

Materials & Methods: QUS spectral and texture parameters were acquired from metastatic lymph nodes 24 h, 1 and 4 weeks after starting RT. K-nearest neighbor and naive-Bayes machine-learning classifiers were used to build prediction models for each time point.

Aim: We aimed to identify quantitative ultrasound (QUS)-radiomic markers to predict radiotherapy response in metastatic lymph nodes of head and neck cancer.

Materials & Methods: Node-positive head and neck cancer patients underwent pretreatment QUS imaging of their metastatic lymph nodes. Imaging features were extracted using the QUS spectral form, and second-order texture parameters.

Introduction: Osteoarthritis of the knee is common among the elderly. The alignment of the knee plays an important part in disease progression.

Objectives: The aim was to determine the relationship between goniometric measurement of malalignment and gross and histological damage to articular cartilages of osteoarthritic knees.

This study evaluated, for the first time, the efficacy of quantitative ultrasound (QUS) spectral parametric maps in conjunction with texture-analysis techniques to differentiate non-invasively benign versus malignant breast lesions. Ultrasound B-mode images and radiofrequency data were acquired from 78 patients with suspicious breast lesions. QUS spectral-analysis techniques were performed on radiofrequency data to generate parametric maps of mid-band fit, spectral slope, spectral intercept, spacing among scatterers, average scatterer diameter, and average acoustic concentration.

Unlabelled: Objective This study was conducted to determine the most effective thermal modality; heat or contrast therapy-in reducing pain, reducing swelling, and increasing range of movement (ROM) of the grade I and II lateral ankle sprain in the prechronic stage of the subacute phase. Design Randomized control trail. Methods One hundred and fifteen participants of both genders who were diagnosed as having grade I or II lateral ankle sprain were randomly assigned to the study on the fifth day of injury.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and interferential therapy (IFT) both in combination with hot pack, myofascial release, active range of motion exercise, and a home exercise program on myofascial pain syndrome patients with upper trapezius myofascial trigger point.

Design: A total of 105 patients with an upper trapezius myofascial trigger point were recruited to this single-blind randomized controlled trial. Following random allocation of patients to three groups, three therapeutic regimens-control-standard care (hot pack, active range of motion exercises, myofascial release, and a home exercise program with postural advice), transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation-standard care and IFT-standard care-were administered eight times during 4 wks at regular intervals.

Objectives: Establishing a normative database for anterior plane knee joint alignment in a population is helpful in assessing patients with disorders of the knee joint specially osteoarthritis. Therefore we aimed at establishing the normal alignment in the Sri Lankan adult population using the goniometer which is an inexpensive and simple method of measurement.

Methods: A total of 420 healthy adult volunteers (210 men and 210 women) above 25 years of age were recruited and the anterior plane knee alignment was measured using a hand held metal goniometer.
