Developing a Mobile Application for Estimating Patient's Radiation Dose.

In diagnostic radiology, entrance surface air kerma (ESAK) is one of the patient radiation dose quantities, and the effective dose is used as an estimator of possible risk for radiation exposure level. Calculation of the ESAK and effective dose requires both X-ray machine parameters and patient exposure parameters. Due to the high performance of smartphones and the increase in mobile applications, this study aimed to develop a mobile application to estimate the ESAK and effective dose in general radiography.

Digital fabrication of customized intraoral appliances for head and neck radiotherapy.

Introduction: The radiotherapy received by head and neck cancer patients commonly has adverse effects on oral tissue and the muscles of mastication. This short communication describes the digital fabrication of intraoral appliances for radiotherapy and muscle exercises.

Methods: Three patients diagnosed with tongue squamous carcinoma were treatment-planned for radiotherapy using different radiation techniques.

Background: Curcumin and piperine are major bioactive compounds of Curcuma longa and Piper nigrum, widely consumed as spices and flock medicine. The combinational use of these plants is a common practice in Southeast Asia. Synergism between curcumin and piperine has been found in several animal models but not in periodontal disease and diabetes, and the antinociceptive interaction is still unknown.

In diabetes patients, urban lifestyle has been concerned as one of the risk factors for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The aims of this study were to find out the prevalence and associated risk factors of PAD in type 2 diabetes patients who live in a non-urban community area. A total of 885 participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus were enrolled from six primary care units in the health network centered at Naresuan University Hospital, Phitsanulok, between May and June 2018.
